Shahnaz Gazi

Shahnaz Gazi is a Bangladeshi diplomat and the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Romania.[1][2] She is the former Bangladeshi consul general in Kunming.[3][4]

Career

In 2006, Gazi was the First Secretary in the Bangladesh embassy in Sweden.[5] In May 2013, she was made the first consular general of Bangladesh in Kunming.[6] She was the deputy consul general of Bangladesh in Los Angeles.[6]

Gazi was the deputy chief of the Bangladesh Embassy in Philippines where she worked on recovering stolen money from the Bangladesh Bank Heist.[7] She was the acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria.[8] She later served as the Charge d' Affaires of the Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand.[9]

Gazi was a director general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[10] In February 2025, she was appointed the ambassador of Bangladesh to Romania.[11]

Personal life

Gazi is married to Shamsad Mortuza, a lecturer of English at the University of Dhaka and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh.[12] Shahnaz Gazi has a daughter, Arshi Mortuza, who is a poet and teacher.
