Controversial feelings. On the one hand, I would really like to finally see the GG anime. On the other hand, I don’t want a good adaptation to again serve as a shield for dishonest developers, as was the case with Arcane.

@CocoaGalaxy See what the adaptations of Tekken and BlazBlue looked like

It looks better than expected for a 3D work at least in terms of fluency, but still doesn't quite resemble the 3D-2D grpahic and art style ArcSys employs these days. That said, I expect a disaster on the storytelling front.

@VyseLegendaire Why? I don't know about the original anime characters, but it looks like they are going to follow the games' plot. Or are you on that part of the fandom that thinks Ishiwatari ruined the story for modern audiences?

@RobertBobert Basically, following the game's plot will entail creating a horrible anime.

@VyseLegendaire Do you have that low an opinion of Strive's plot?

Always wanted a Guilty Gear anime ever since I watched the Guilty Gear X intro years back when I was a kid.

Would be nice if the art style stayed the same as the Guilty Gear X intro. I'm not familiar with most of the characters in Strive since I've only played Guilty Gear XX Reload and Isuka. Also, doesn't look like Jam is around 😭 Is it cause Ky is married to Dizzy? lol I just hope the adaptation will be good cause the PV looks cool!

RUNNING returned to me in an even more beautiful form.
Can one man be so blessed?

Much like @Gisilfrid ever since I saw GGX intro back, I also wondered if GG franchise ever gonna get a chance of anime adaptation. I remember that time I wished for.

But now, right now, I don't feel excited anymore. I see the games and some drawn materials have enough lore that such anime barely touches the surface. It may feel like a spin-off, and I wouldn't be surprised if this anime ended meh boring.

The 2007 anime, Devil May Cry added nothing of importance to me, but it felt good to see Dante in anime. If you didn't see DMC (2007) anime, would you miss anything? No. The games are enough for lore source. This is how I feel about GG-Strive anime right now. The games series would do you enough rather than this anime that seemingly gonna end on 12 or 24 disappointing episodes. Or this anime might be a prologue to the next GG game. Whatever is, the story must go further.

I personally won't expect much from the anime other than its aesthetics. Just to see Sol and others of interests in anime. Well, at least the simps got something of the anime. Dizzy, Millia, Jack-O, Ramlethal, Elphelt, Jam, etc.

@malvarez1 Was it bad? I missed it, although I was interested in this franchise for some time when I was tired of GG.

@Gisilfrid These are more the same characters, but some of them were Retconned for one reason or another. For example, the Testament is much more pronounced sexless compared to the his original image of non-binary male, while Bridget was rewritten from Otokonoko to a trans girl, which at one time caused a large scandal and divided the fandom into two parts.

@RobertBobert I don't think the BlazBlue anime is terrible, but it's consistently mediocre, and considering it's a fighting anime, the action scenes are mostly unimpressive.

@malvarez1 It is based on the plot of the game or should have been going like a bonus to it?

@RobertBobert It adapts the first game, although it does have to cut out stuff for time.
