Its a new year!
Posted 14 years agoIts a new year! 2011 is here. 2010 was a good year. Some bad things happened, but a lot of good happened for me. Time for some resolutions. I have 7 things I want to work on this year. I hope I can complete them all, but I will be happy if I only get a few finished.
1. Learn to Cook. (No more dumping something frozen out of a box or bag. Cooking from scratch. I can follow any recipe, but getting myself to actually do it is another thing.)
2. Get into an Art show or Artist alley or Dealers room etc. Do art outside of just the internet and be in the public. I did it years ago, and its time to try to get back on that "horse"
3. Visit family. (Its been over 3 years now)
4. Travel again! (Banff was OMG TO ffreaking skfjal;Awesome!!?dkl#$!)
5. Sell or give away all my old prints. (I have stacks of prints sitting under my bed I never have even tried to sell! They just sit there waiting for me to do something with them.)
6. Go to the dentist. (Its been years, and I been avoiding it)

Christmas Time!
Posted 14 years agoI have been in a very artsy mood lately. Even though there hasn't been much on the website. I have been working on projects that may be seen at a later time. Just not yet.
I love this time of year. I just have fallen in love with this month. I play Christmas songs in my car for the full month. Hot coco anyone?
I am starting to move away from trying to do commissions since it has been almost a year now since I have had one. So if you have a request for something, let me know. I may or may not do it. I'm really into watercolor right now, but I am guessing in a few months it will change again.

I plan on attending FurFright (Or I should say, I REALLY HOPE TO, but not sure as of yet), but will I Not be working on commissions while there. Sorry. But I will be holding a sale until Furfright on all commissions. Only commissions I can get done before the convention are badges or shrinky dinks, and only for a limited amount of time. $7 for a watercolor badge. Art is done on watercolor paper. Will laminate, or leave naked on request.

I mostly work in Acrylics or Watercolor. Will work in any size. Please email for availability and prices. Shipping prices for larger pieces vary.
Shrinky-Dinks:
Will include the original art with the shrinky-dink. I can turn them into necklaces, key chains, or cell phone charms, etc. When the art shrinks they should be about 1 inch x 1 inch (or larger). I use prismacolor pencils to color the shrinky-dinks. $5.
Other:
Sculptures, Digital, Pencil Sketches, Pastels etc. I do not do these often, but I am willing to give it a try. Please contact me for more information.

No Subject
Posted 14 years ago3 days...three migraines. I'm scared. Everyone is closed Monday due to labor day, I'll go Tuesday.
Migraines suck
Posted 14 years agoSo yesterday, I had my first migraine in 4 years. It is my only second one. I hope I never have another in my life. For those who think migraines are just bad head aches, you have no clue. My day started out normal. As I pulled into work a little before 8 pm I noticed something did not feel quiet right. I some how felt distant from everything around me. Like I felt faint. As I walked into work the feels became stronger. I was hoping it would pass, I sometimes get a little excited running to work when I am running late. I soon realized this was not the case.
After clocking in I asked to sit down to see if it would pass, then I started to see the flashing lights in the corner of my vision. I also noticed I could not read. My co-workers had no clue what was going on, but I had a good idea, I told them I was going home.
One of the vendors knew what was going on with me and offered me some medicine, I was going to leave soon after but by the time I got to my car to head home, I had lost feeling in both my hands, and my speech was slipping. I was in no condition to drive. I ended up going back inside and sitting for an hour waiting for someone to pick me up to take me home. I ended up going to the emergency room. After bunch of shots and throwing up all the way from the hospital to home. When I finally got home I could see my bed room, I could hear my room mates talking to me, but I could not see them in my room next to me.
I finally woke up this morning able to sorta functional. Reading still hurts my vision, but I'm bored ;) I hope this passes fast and I never have another migraine EVER.

Mt Osceola Pt 2
Posted 14 years agoSo today I hiked Mt Osceola. There was a heavy hazy in the air today, which cleared up as soon as I reached the bottom. I went a little more prepared this time, so my pack was a little more heavy than the last time. I arrived at the trail head a little after 8pm and finished the hike a little before 3pm. The mountain stands at 4,340 feet. The trail was 3.2 miles one way, with an elevation gain of 2050 feet.
I hiked a little ways toward East Osceola, but found it a little rougher than I felt like tackling, so I turned around. I'll get that mountain another day :D

Possible Mt Osceola hike
Posted 14 years agoA new week, a new hike. Debating on where to hike. I would like to hike Mt Osceola and East Osceola, but like with Mt Tecumseh, I rather not do it alone. This is going to be a longer hike, about 8 miles round trip. I may save this one when I have friends with me. It is very close to Mt Tecumseh, so driving there will be easy.
There are a few others I am considering, that will be much shorter, but still the appeal of getting two peaks done at once, is tantalizing. I will be doing this either on Monday or Tuesday. I prefer tomorrow, so it will give me time to relax before I go back to work on Wednesday. Know its extremely short notice, but hoping someone wants to go this time :D

Mt Tecumseh pt 2
Posted 14 years agoToday I hiked Mt. Tecumseh (elevation 4003feet). Just wish I had someone with me, but it over all went well. After 2 hours of driving, I got there about 9:30 in the morning. The trail is about 2.5 miles one way, with an elevation gain of about 2200 feet. After being stung by some unknown insect and resting a few times, I finally got back to the bottom around 3pm. It was a fun adventure, saw a few others on the trail. I also brought along my little fox that 
desertgunbunny gave me awhile ago. I think I will bring the little guy with me up all the mountains.

Mt. Tecumseh
Posted 14 years agoI am hoping to hike up Mt. Tecumseh on Saturday. It is the smallest of the 48 mountains in the New Hampshire 4000 footers. I started to do the math and realized I need to start hiking more if I ever want to finish hiking all of them. Hope I find someone to go with me.
My climbing class was held on last Saturday! Took me 3 hours to get to where the class was held, but was well worth it. It was the farthest I ever drove in my life. I am glad I went. The instructor was awesome too! I want to go back and have another lesson. I need more knowledge on climbing!
For those who may be curious, I am still open for commissions. Help feed my new addiction: Climbing!

Climbing Crazy
Posted 14 years agoSo My Trip to Banff, Canada went a lot better then expected. Had some major hang ups (Missing the shuttle both ways *hangs head in shame*) but outside of that the vacation was a Dream! My host/friends were beyond amazing.
They introduced me to rock climbing. In a previous picture I submitted, I was quoted as saying "I'll never do that!" I enjoyed myself more than I ever thought I would. So yesterday I signed up for rock climbing classes. Sadly I am the only person signed up, and they will cancel the class and move it back to Saturday if no one else wants to learn. I'm crossing my fingers.
If I some how get to climb on Tuesday on next weekend I would like to start my other dream. Hiking the 48, 4000 footers in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. They start at 4000 feet and go up from there. There is a club for hiking all 48. Mt. Tecumseh is on the list for the weekend. I can only hike, if on Tuesday I get to go to climbing school :D either way it will be a good Saturday.
So I think the trip changed me, hopefully for the good, so I now want to chase my dreams.

Vacation time!!!!
Posted 14 years agoGoing to Canada! I will be away for about a week, so no new submissions till I get get back. Hopefully I will have something to post when I return. I never traveled this far, so this will be one big adventure!

Its been awhile, but for the most part I have been keeping to myself, so its time to break out of that shell of mine, and openly accept commissions.

Badge sized Art:
$12 for a watercolor badge. Art is done on watercolor paper. Will laminate, or leave naked on request.
Other medium please contact me for price. I also work in Acrylics, but they take more time.
Larger art:
I mostly work in Acrylics or Watercolor. Will work in any size. Please email for availability and prices. Shipping prices for larger pieces vary.
Shrinky-Dinks:
Will include the original art with the shrinky-dink. I can turn them into necklaces, key chains, or cell phone charms, etc. When the art shrinks they should be about 1 inch x 1 inch (or larger). I use prismacolor pencils to color the shrinky-dinks. $10.
