This is the kind of series I'm not usually drawn to and it didn't exactly make me fall in love but I was pleasantly surprised by how creative the setting is and while some of the filler episodes bored me, I liked how the series concluded on a dramatic arc that got surprisingly dark without feeling like tonal whiplash. The anime did get annoyingly cheesy at times and some of the messages and plot points seemed forced at times (mostly in early episodes) but I'm glad I stuck with it and I probably would have never even known of the show if not for this challenge. |
