Summary

Description Set of pen and ink sketches of the Society of Friends annual meeting at Devonshire House, London (May, 1860), bound as booklet. It contains seven drawings, plus front page, by John Joseph Willson (ca.1837-1903), of Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. Showing seventh and last picture: "Royal Academy. The chief interest seems to centre in Millais' The Black Brunswicker, which was the picture of the year; but the old gentleman to the left seems most intent on scrutinising the young "swell" who is looking over his daughter's shoulder at her catalogue."
