English: Woodcut print from John Bate's 1634 book, The Mysteryes of Nature and Art in which it is titled How to make fire Drakes (a fire drake in Germanic mythology is a fiery dragon and drachen is German for kite), as reprinted at page 296 and described on page 297 of Joseph Strutt's 1801 book, The sports and pastimes of the people of England from the earliest period.
