E-mails concerning licensing

We had a discussion about the license at de.wikibooks. (A user of de.wikibooks extracted the mascot from a screenshot and licensed it under the GFDL.) I wrote some emails to the copyright holder to verify the license of this image.

Dear Sir or Madam,

on Wikibooks, a free collection of open-content textbooks and a sister project of Wikipedia,
I found an image of a gambas mascot. See this page for the image: [link to this site]

On this page, licensing information is missing at the moment. On the German edition of
Wikibooks, we're currently searching for the license because the image has to be deleted
without correct licensing notices. In the source package "gambas-1.0.17.tar.bz", a user of
German Wikibooks found this image at "gambas-1.0.17/app/gambas/img/anim/gambas1.png". Given
the information in the file "gambas-1.0.17/app/gambas/about.txt", Mr. Fabien Bodard seems to
be the copyright holder of the image and this seems to be his email address. Because of this
evidence, I'm asking you if you could please inform me about the license of this image to
add specific licensing information on Wikimedia Commons, the source of free images for
Wikipedia and its sister projects.

Yours sincerely

Yes i'm the copyright holder... the licence of this image is CC-BY-NC-SA
(Creative common licence)
I'm just seeing that this produces a problem. From commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Licensing:

"The following licenses are wide-spread, but explicitly not allowed (unless, of course, the file is also under a free licence):
* Creative Commons Non-Commercial Only (-NC) licenses [...]"

Is the image also under another free license?

Yours sincerely
Stefan Majewsky
Yes gpl... the two sole thing i want to not be forgotten is that mascot is linked to the gambas project, and that i'm the designer.

Best regards,
Fabien Bodards
Other versions
This logo image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Gambas mascot.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
