Description

Svenska: Rektangulär låda av stål, ursprungligen målad med ljus färg. På framsidan finns en rund urtavla av koppar, graderad i en 40-gradig skala. Visaren är av mässing. Det invändiga urverket avlöser ett snälltryck som avfyrar ett hjullås, vilket i sin tur tänder ett kort eldrör, vars mynningar går ut genom lådans sidor. Maskineriet var avsett att placeras i en behållare med krut och svavel. På lådans översida finns ett handtag av läder fastsatt i två rembyglar av stål.
Enligt 1710 års inventarium, p. 75: "(uthi Rundelen) 1Hjullåås som 1 4kantig låda med urwärck, och 1 Kopparwijsare utan på".
Enligt tradition (möjligen från Grimberg) avsedd att användas vid attentat mot Carl Gustav Wrangels amiralsskepp, efter slaget vid Femern 1644.
Föremålet och historien bakom finns beskrivna i Axel Oxenstiernas skrifter, 2 avd. b. 8. Enligt CGW:s egna uppgifter försökte en förment osthandlare, Hans Grefft, att bränna upp skeppen Tre Lejon och Draken som låg i Wismars ham, våren 1645. Grefft arresterades på grund av sitt egenartade uppträdande och utsattes för pinligt förhör. Attentatsmannen brändes på bål i oktober samma år.
