HE HELD 13,000 TRIALS IN THIS ROOM RESULTING IN CONVICTIONS OF 9,000. HE SENTENCED 160 TO DEATH BUT ONLY 79 WERE HANGED. NO APPEAL WAS POSSIBLE FOR THE FIRST 14 YEARS. HE BROUGHT LAW AND ORDER TO THE LAWLESS INDIAN TERRITORY.
