Description
English: Belisha beacon for indicating a pedestrian crossing. All marked pedestrian crossings in New Zealand must be signed with Belisha beacons on either side of the crossing. The Belisha beacon consists of a pole of alternating black and white bands and which is not less than 2 metres in height and 75 millimetres in diameter. The pole is topped by either an internally illuminated amber globe not less than 300 millimetres in diameter and which has a lamp that provides 40 to 60 flashes per minute, or by a reflective fluorescent orange disk not less than 400 millimetres in diameter.
