Eesti: Rebane on ka kuulus selle poolest, et kui ta satub olukorda, kus saakloomadel ja -lindudel puudub põgenemise võimalus, siis murrab ta maha kõik loomad ja linnud, kelle kätte saab. Selle käitumise tulemusena arvatakse, et rebane on kuri ja kättemaksuhimuline, kuid tegelikult on murdmise põhjuseks rebase jaoks ebaloomulik olukord, kus saakloomad ei suuda ta eest ära joosta (sellist olukorda looduses ei juhtu ja seetõttu pole rebane kohastunud vastavalt käituma)Foto on üles võetud Tartumaal, Ilmatsalus aastal 2011.
