DescriptionZeckendorf Towers over Union Square.jpg
The Zeckendorf Towers (1987, David, Brody & Assocs.) at 1 Irving Place between Irving Place and Park Avenue South and 14th and 15th Street in Manhattan, New York City, is a mixed-use development which replaced the S. Klein's-on-the-Square discount department store which had stood there from 1921 to 1985 (but had closed in 1975). In the foreground of the picture is the north plaza of Union Square Park, which at this time has just been renovated, and in the background behind the towers is the Consolidated Edison Company Building.
