So, this started out as a con sketch for
artlan this past FC. I liked the sketch so much, I changed it a little and made it into a piece for the AC 2009 Art Show.
You've seen it....baby animals start scratching behind their ears or something, and then WHOA!!! They see that they have a FOOT and oh my gosh, it's amazing.
Colored pencil on Canson.

Thank you!
The new stock isn't as buttery as the older. The pencils tend to have grit in them, especially in Indigo Blue for some reason. The lead is weaker an breaks more often. That said, they are till a good pencil to work with. I have not had much to any experience with the other good brands out there.

The colour pencil that I am currently using is this woodless stuff. It is interesting though it tends to get the paper too waxy too quickly. I will definatly pick up some prismacolor, hopefully its some of the older stock but It sounds like the stuff is good regardless.
Interesting... I've been working in a Michaels Arts & Crafts for three years, and as of late, I'm amazed at how little I've heard from artists that stop in for supplies.
So, I have two reasons to thank you: 1) Thank you for submitting this beautiful piece for us all to enjoy (yes, I know that sounds very hippie, I dun care XD), and 2) thanks for the info on Prismacolor pencils. I know virtually nothing about art, even after working in an ARTS & Crafts store for three years, so it's good to get extra tidbits of information so I don't look like a /complete/ fool in front of customers. =)

OMG this is horribly cute. It hurts. It's painful. It's too adorable. I love it tooo much. It's expression makes me giggle madly while "daaawwww"ing.
Ahem, and yes, beautiful work. You layer so well. I still have not figured out how to get such crisp layers with my pencils. And wonderful job on that young cirtter downy fluffy fur look.

Aww, I love it's expression! Its eyes are so round and astonished! Animal puppies sure have weird sources of joy and surprise. XD Like chasing own shadow or tail - or with dog puppies barking to the mirror! ^^ I love this!
*sigh* I wish I could have Prismacolours too...they don't sell them here in Finland.
