History

[edit]

The company was founded in Brentwood, TN in 2015 and is led by CEO Chris Cochran.[2][3] Before founding FreightWise, Cochran co-founded TracBack Solutions, a parcel shipments auditing technology and services company that sold to AFS Logistics in 2013.[4][5]

FreightWise listed on the 2nd spot in the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest growing companies in the United States in 2019.[5][6][7] The company, since that time, has been listed on the Inc 5000 list 6 times.

In 2022, the company secured funding from 3 private equity firms, including late-stage venture capital funding, led by Unigestion.[8]

In 2023, FreightWise acquired the Kuebix transportation management system (TMS) platform from Trimble which previously acquired the company for $220m. The combination of the two companies made FreightWise one of the largest Shipper TMS platforms in North America. [9][10][11]

FreightWise's customers include Meta, Great Plains Manufacturing and American Cast Iron Pipe Company .[4][8]
