[Greece Declares War on Turkey]
editA citation is needed on this statement, and I can't find anything definitive that proves or disproves it. The most detailed account I could find on my limited search was the following on pp 584 of Illustrated Universal History: Being a Clear and Concise History of All Nations By Israel Smith Clare (1880) which states that there was an incursion of 12,000 Greek troops, and the island of Crete was annexed. A few days later an armistice was agreed upon by Greece and Turkey, but the insurgents on Crete continued to carry their arms. So whether this was a declaraition of war... is undecided and I will let more informed individuals decide. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joma888 (talk • contribs) 05:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)

1878 is NOT currently conforming to proposed general model. The year in topic paragraph should be replaced by a see also box as in 1886
