Edit requests

Hi, I'm working on the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe page and I'm not sure why the content is being reverted to an outdated version. Yesterday, I added relevant footnotes and references and it has been reverted again. I do work for this company, but this information is valid and has relevant sources. I notice that there seems to be a distinct absence of independent reliable sources, and I have pointed the notability concern out to the CoI editor who on WP:HD raised the question of updates to this article. --David Biddulph (talk) 11:05, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Thank you, David and Justlettersandnumbers for explaining. I was unaware of the notability concern and conflict of interest. Would it still be possible to edit the information that has been retained, as the figures listed and some of the information from the reversion to this previous content is inaccurate? CIRad84, thank you for your understanding. As David Biddulph rightly says, the fundamental problem with this page is that it doesn't have any independent reliable sources. That means that the content in the page is unsupported by references, and so liable to be removed at any time; and the notability of the society – by the specific standards of this project – is not demonstrated. If you know of independent sources which cover the society, its history, activities and membership, in depth and detail, please mention them here. They don't have to be accessible via the internet, though of course it helps. I've had a quick look for such sources myself, and drawn a blank. Unless the page can be properly sourced, I'm going to suggest redirecting it to CardioVascular and Interventional Radiology, even if that page also needs a good deal of work. I have 2 questions regarding the sources you provided.

• At ECCO's disclaimer page, it states: "ECCO - the European CanCer Organisation and its staff, agents and members disclaim any and all representations with regard to the information contained on the website. The website includes references to other websites or other organisations over which ECCO - the European CanCer Organisation has no control either from the point of view of the content or the technical functioning of the site." My question asks whether you know if outside access is provided by ECCA-org.eu to different portions of their web portal and to individuals associated with the mentioned appurtenant organizations such as CIRSE — and if so, how often does that occur.
• At Interventionalnews.com it states "BIBA Medical Limited owns and operates interventionalnews.com. We rely on our authors of articles to confirm the accuracy of the information presented, and to describe generally accepted practices. Therefore we as the publisher, and our editors, cannot warrant its accuracy." BIBA's assertion is that their authors are the final guarantors of the veracity of information that appears on their websites. Despite this, the articles you cited which mention CIRSE are conspicuously devoid of information on their authors. Are you able to provide any of this information? Please advise. Thanks Spintendo for looking into this. For your first question, I am not aware of any access granted to outside organizations to edit their website. The statement in the disclaimer about references to other websites seems to be claiming that they have no control over the content/functioning of an outside party's website. Regarding your second question, I am checking with the editor listed on the bottom of the web pages of Interventional News to see if author information is available, but, as far as I know, members of their staff attend CIRSE conferences or speak with members of the society and then write up pieces. Also, I don't see any author information on a number of their articles, not only CIRSE-related. For example, this interview: https://interventionalnews.com/andrew-holden/. Thank you I thought this as well, that it might be referring to outside websites. But I noticed the Login prompt which is placed within ECCO's website header and is accessible from every visitable page, which would be a curious thing to have if theirs is a closed system. My thinking on this is that if ECCO's website routinely provides access to their web presence through any registered user — for example, a representative of CIRSE being able to access and alter the information displayed on the ECCO webpage — then ECCO's value as an independent source is lost, as their website becomes just an extension of CIRSE's own web portal.
