Crossen, S 2009. "Competition between Bryozoans and their differences". Marine Journal of Biological Sciences 13, 130-154. There is no mention of the Marine Journal of Biological Sciences anywhere online, or of this article. It appears that it does not exist?

Cyclostomes are not briozoans

edit

To the English Wikipedians, I have tried to correct a problem but my edits were reversed: the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature does not allow the existence of two taxonomic entities with the same name. Cyclostomi (cyclostomes) are jawless fishes. Cyclostomata or the synonym Cyclostomatidea (cyclostomata) are Stenolaemate bryzoans. There is a confusion that unfortunately spreads to other Wikipedias. Please solve it. All along this article "cyclostome" must be replaced by "cyclostomata" or "cyclostomatidea". Searching the literature I have found many examples of the use of "cyclostome bryozoan", what adds more confusion. In any case, "cyclostome" is not a scientific name. I have moved Cyclostomata (jawless fishes) to Cyclostomi and edited the disambiguation page.Fernando Archuby (talk) 16:41, 10 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
