Orphaned references in Howard Ashman

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Howard Ashman's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "time":

  • From YouTube: Cloud, John (December 16, 2006). "The Gurus of YouTube". Time Magazine. Retrieved November 29, 2008.
  • From Roger Miller: "The Unhokey Okie". Time. May 5, 1965.
  • From Aladdin (1992 Disney film): Richard Corliss; Patrick E. Cole; Martha Smilgis (1992-11-09). "Aladdin's Magic". Time. Retrieved 2007-03-16. Chuck Jones' verdict is judicious: Aladdin is "the funniest feature ever made." It's a movie for adults – if they can keep up with its careering pace – and, yes, you can take the kids. It juggles a '90s impudence with the old Disney swank and heart.
  • From William Finn: Henry, William A."The Quirky William Finn"Time Magazine, May 11, 1992

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 00:50, 23 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

The citation of the Jeffrey Katzenberg claims under Tribute

edit

The citation of the Jeffrey Katzenberg claims under Tribute, I found it on documentary Disney : Howard Ashman Tribute. And at 2':19 Jeffrey Katzenberg was recorded to remark similar things on a Youtube channel of this docu. But I don't know how to do the citation on wiki. Hope someone can help. Undid unwarranted marriage reference

edit

I took the liberty to undo the unwarranted addition of a marriage reference: I can see no point to it. I wonder what the anonymous editor meant. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teknico (talkcontribs) 08:24, 26 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Songs

edit

Various IPs have continued to add songs from "Zeus and Roxanne" to the list of "Best Known Works". The item has been reverted, with a request for WP:RS. I note that Ashman died in March 1991 and the Zeus and Roxanne film was released in 1997. Appears to be a case of WP:EDITWAR . Flami72 (talk) 13:55, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Flami72: I think it WP:SNEAKY vandalism by various IP socks of one editor deliberately adding info well-known to be false, as you have basically proven. Checking edits shows doing same to other composer articles adding bogus credits. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:27, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
I'd be dubious of any edits by this IPv6 and by 47.20.120.70 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) is currently blocked for same and share geo location. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:38, 19 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Burkina Faso

edit

The article is categorized Category:American expatriates in Burkina Faso, but I can find no such mention in the article. I am not challenging the inclusion, but it might be interesting for some information on the point to be added beyond just a category mention. - Gilgamesh (talk) 09:27, 2 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Change the partner info box

edit

Can i change the Bill Lauch (1984–1991) to Bill Lauch (1984–death) because it makes it seem like Bill is dead when he actually isn't dead Chefs-kiss (talk) 10:59, 29 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

added personal life information

edit

Added extensive information Howard Ashman's personal life, mostly focused on the information regarding his partners. Much of it is sourced from the documentary Howard (film) Chefs-kiss (talk) 14:30, 23 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Filmography

edit

Why does the "Filmography" section of the article list things that were strictly stage productions?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Pagalloway (talkcontribs) 01:23, 5 July 2021(UTC)

@Pagalloway: I'm not sure since there is no rational in the talk page. I am not sure about the procedure since technically he adapted only 4? I will look into it. It is a good point. Also please sign your contributions to the talk pages. thank you! Chefs-kiss (talk) 21:39, 5 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Upstate New York?

edit

The Personal Life section currently says that Howard and Stuart moved to "upstate New York" after completing the grad program at Indiana University (which would have been around 1974), but I think that's incorrect -- everything I've seen indicates that they moved directly to New York City. Could that maybe be a conflation with Howard's later plans to move to upstate New York with Bill (in the late 1980s)? Mattymatt (talk) 02:01, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think you're right. His job at Grosset & Dunlap Publishers seems to place him in NYC. I haven't seen anything about him being in upstate NY during that time. Jak86 (talk)(contribs) 03:35, 18 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
