US naturalization law contradictions on Wikipedia
editAs race issues are popular subjects in American public discourse, Wikipedia owes it to its readers to present correct information. Please clarify the following mutually contradictory entries in Wikipedia.
From the Wikipedia entry for Takao Ozawa:
the Naturalization Act of 1906 which allowed only "free white persons" and "persons of African nativity or persons of African descent" to naturalize.
From the Wikipedia entry for Ian Haney Lopez:
He is a pioneering writer in the genre of critical race theory. He gained early renown for White by Law: The Legal Construction of Race.[3] The book explores judicial efforts to interpret the legal requirement, utilized until 1952, that one be a "white person" in order to gain naturalized citizenship.
The omission of “persons of African nativity or persons of African descent” from the Haney Lopez entry is entirely misleading - clearly, these two Wikipedia entries contradict each other. Please correct.
