Sectioning
editI eliminated the Ganymedian Moons heading, which made it possible to promote the interior section headings up one level. This made the moon headings more prominent and more visible, enhancing the readability. Since I was touching those headings, I added a space where I removed an equals sign "=". Please leave them there since spaces in heading tags don't interfere in anyway with page formattting and they enhance readability in the editing box. Hu 11:11, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Io in the Space Odyssey Series
editI don't like to delete other people's contributions but, in addition to editing the role of Io in the novels and films, I removed the references to the The Discovery One being "coated with sulfur from the erupting volcanoes beneath it". And also Heywood Floyd stating "that Io's surface reminds him of the fictional land of Mordor in The Lord of the Rings". These are details that are really only relevant to someone reading the novels.
In the same way, I would be tempted to describe how the novel refers to the relative brightness of the two sides Saturn's moon Japetus of a significant indicator of an alien presence in the solar system and and how the Io's (then unexplained) volcanism is used to the same ends.
Blish
editJames Blish, short story "Seeding Program", in "The Seedling Stars" (UK) is largely set on Ganymede. 94.30.84.71 (talk) 22:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Destiny 2 Io
editI was unsure, if the section for the video game, Destiny 2. Should be edited to be written in past tense, as Io will be removed from the game, in November.
