Article name
editIsn't Rugby League's 100 Greatest Players misleading? It's only Australian rugby league, not worldwide. Cheers, •Florrie•leave a note• 04:57, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm only going by the logo that the ARL have released, with the words, "Rugby League's 100 Greatest Players". I think as long as we make it clear in the introduction what this article is really about, i think it should be fine. Maybe this is a topic to bring up on the project page. mdmanser (talk) 05:18, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Agree with Florrie it is misleading as there are certainly British and Kiwi players that would make any list. I created the article with a more neutral sounding name that made it clear they were Australian rugby league players, Australian as opposed to Australia as some on the list did not play for the Kangaroos. I would propose moving back to the original title, or creating something similar. A detailed lead could explain the title further. Alexsanderson83 (talk) 08:19, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, agreed then. How about "Australian Rugby League's 100 Greatest Players"? If someone agrees with this then move it straight away. mdmanser (talk) 05:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'd go along with that. Only added the list bit because it was a limited article that I set up. Now its fleshed out its doesn't need the list bit. Alexsanderson83 (talk) 07:59, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
The capitalisation of Australian Rugby League makes it a proper noun, which means the ARL. It should be Australian rugby league's 100 greatest players.--Jeff79 (talk) 15:46, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
- Fixed.--Jeff79 (talk) 02:41, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Wasn't it commissioned jointly by the ARL, not saying that either way is right or wrong, just wondering.Londo06 08:18, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
I read on here that it was.--Jeff79 (talk) 08:23, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
Incomplete list
editMe again - I like what you've done to try and show the teams the selected footballers played for, but the list published by Fox isn't complete. For example, Arthur Clues spent the majority of his career (and life) in England, with Leeds and Hunslet, yet those two teams aren't mentioned on the list, only Wests. Same with Vic Armbruster, he also played for Mullumbimby, Bundaberg and Rochdale Hornets. Brian Carlson played for Norths Newcastle and Souths Newcastle (not Newcastle) as well as Wollongong. For accuracy's sake, you need to check through each player's history and add the other clubs to your tables. Cheers, •Florrie•leave a note• 01:52, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. Just noticed West Tigers listed as having one player on the list as per the table at the bottom. But I had a quick look and couldn't find that player in the list. Either Wests Tigers has got to go from the table, or the club needs to be listed beside the player in the list.--Jeff79 (talk) 10:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
Brisbane Rugby League
editThere's a table in this article listing how many of the 100 players played in the BRL. I don't think Toowoomba was ever a part of the Brisbane Rugby League premiership. Could be wrong though. I have a question mark over Ipswich too as they only became part of the BRL in 1986, unless it's referring to Alfie Langer (who played for them in 1987) in which case it's ok.--Jeff79 (talk) 05:03, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Brisbane and Toowoomba
editToowoomba is incorrectly listed under Brisbane's League. Two options here, the list is left as is with the heading changed to "Queensland" or Toowoomba is moved to the "Other" list.--Jeff79 (talk) 20:49, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

editReproducing the list itself appears to be a copyright violation. Can anyone point to a release statement so that we can reproduce the original list in a Wikipedia article? Fæ (talk) 11:04, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
