Cecily Strong on the cast list
editAs Cecily strong did not appear in the first 3 episodes, I don't see why there is insistence on just listing her last episode, but not her first episode. —Banana Republic (talk) 06:13, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
- Because she was still a cast member and did not leave until episode nine. Her first episode was in 2012. Kate McKinnon didn’t appear in the first seven episodes of last season but rightfully has no such mark about it in the cast list. It’s ridiculous to want to introduce such unnecessary change 108.41.81.126 (talk) 06:25, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
Latin host and musical guest
editI would argue that Desi Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr. was the first Latin host and musical guest in Season 1 Episode 14 2603:8080:2502:7B00:874:1520:83EA:2DD7 (talk) 05:05, 16 April 2023 (UTC)
Season is not over until they say it is
editThe ongoing writers strike has stopped production on the show for the time being, but that doesn't automatically make the season over. There's no way of knowing how long this strike will last for. It could last several months. Or it could end today, and production can immediately resume on this season. Until/unless it is announced that production for the rest of the season is in fact cancelled, it should be treated as a hiatus/break. JDDJS (talk to me • see what I've done) 15:33, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
- Right. Only an announcement that the season is over will suffice. Binksternet (talk) 15:58, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
Again, the season has not been officially cancelled, so please stop editing the page to reflect. In fact, sources have in fact confirmed that the episodes are still scheduled and will air if the strike ends soon enough for it to be possible. "Multiple sources confirm to Variety that, in the unlikely event the strike is resolved in the coming weeks, “Succession” star Kieran Culkin is scheduled to take the stage at Studio 8H on May 13, with musical guest Labrinth, while “The White Lotus” star Jennifer Coolidge is set to close out “SNL’s” 48th season with Foo Fighters."[1] JDDJS (talk to me • see what I've done) 22:36, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- They may be able to return on the 13th and 20th but depends on the strike. Cwater1 (talk) 03:57, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
Linking to the writers strike within the article
editThe current version of the article only links to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike in the lead. I believe there should be a WP:REPEATEDLINK within the article. There is currently no logical place to add this repeated link other than in the section on the cancelled episodes. Since MOS:LINKSTYLE does not allow section headings to have links, and using the {{main article}} template doesn't fit, it seems that an intro sentence is necessary to be able to link from the section to the strike.
