Welcome to my (well, per the guidance article re: user pages, I understand that "our" is more fitting) user page! If you are here because I made an error in editing, mapping, or any of the other tasks in which I hope to participate, I ask for your understanding and patience as I am quite new to all this. (As to how long I will keep that disclaimer up, well, I do not yet know; perhaps I will wait until I have made enough mistakes and learned enough from them).
Among my interests are urban planning, infrastructure construction, GIS mapmaking, and (as indicated by my username) the Netherlands. I may be new to Wikipedia, but I am reasonably proficient in ArcGIS. I hope to help with some mapping work (regardless of subject matter).
I am a native English speaker and have a general if long-unpracticed command of Spanish (CEFR B-2 or better as of Dec. 2021). My experience in translating / editing / writing in Spanish in an encyclopedic tone is limited.
Other languages: I have previously studied German (to a very basic level) and Latin (for years, though I am now very rusty). AS of late 2021, I am very slowly learning Dutch and Portuguese.
Besides the subjects in which I hope to help contribute to Wikipedia, I am also interested in political history, biography, aviation, cycling, and stand-up. I always appreciate podcast and book suggestions.
