Kingdom of Nauru

edit

I have moved your article to Draft:Kingdom of Nauru because it was clearly not ready for publication in article space. Draft space is a place that gives you time to work on improving it, without worrying about it being deleted. ~Anachronist (talk) 03:02, 13 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. It needed lots of work. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 03:04, 13 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

edit

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

== Welcome! ==

Hi Blackmamba31248! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay.

I've noticed that you've expressed an interest in the Arab/Israel conflict. Unfortunately, due to a history of conflict and disruptive editing it has been designated a contentious topic and is subject to some strict rules.

The rule that affects you most as new or IP editor is the prohibition on making any edit related to the Arab/Israel conflict unless you are logged into an account and that account is at least 30 days old and has made at least 500 edits.

This prohibition is broadly construed, so it includes edits such as adding the reaction of a public figure concerning the conflict to their article or noting the position of a company or organization as it relates to the conflict.

The exception to this rule is that you may request a specific change to an article on the talk page of that article or at this page. Please ensure that your requested edit complies with our neutral point of view and reliable sourcing policies, and if the edit is about a living person our policies on biographies of living people as well.

Any edits you make contrary to these rules are likely to be reverted, and repeated violations can lead to your being blocked from editing.

High error rate

edit

Hello again—if I could offer some more advice, could you please make a habit of checking the relevant articles before making corrections? Many of your edits have been reverted for reasons that would not crop up if you took a glance at the relevant page being linked to. Cheers. Remsense 02:36, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

What dó you mean by “relevant articles?” Also, which edits? Chould you be mire specific. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 02:38, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Í see. But also, the reason í corrected Emirate to Calipahte is because í thought it was refering to the Umyadd Caliphate not the Emirate of Cordoba. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 02:44, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The Umayyad Caliphate as such ceased to exist c. 750. My point still fully applies: please double-check that your corrections are actually corrections. Remsense 02:45, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, í should check for factuallatyy more often. Thank You. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 02:47, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Aldamira Guedes Fernandes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Quixeramobim. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Blocked

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Graham87 (talk) 05:40, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your editing pattern is highly suspicious and you are clearly an incompetent editor. You are not welcome here. Graham87 (talk) 05:40, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also the fact that you say you've previously had accounts here is highly concerning. Were they blocked for any reason? Or do you mean IP addresses? On your user page you say you've had an "IP account"; that's a contradiction in terms. Graham87 (talk) 05:48, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Furthermore, I found you because an edit you made added extreme overlinking with a link to the "Australia" article. The fact that you even thought to do that without checking the simplified Manual of Style linked above (that clearly advises against it) does not portray you in a good light either. Graham87 (talk) 07:03, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I just lost my password tó the other accounts. With the IP account, í was blocked several times due tó abuse of Admin powers. There where periods where í didn’t even edit and still blocked. It was very Consistent. Check my editing history. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 12:18, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Please, all my edits where in good faith.
My accounts:
User:Leninistpython
I can not seem to find my other accounts, but they where called Snipercobra and Socalistviper, tó be exact.
You will see that í haven’t made edits on the accounts in months, so í am not a sockpuppet.
Again, í am relativley new to Wikipedia, and try not to Make any mistakes. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 12:28, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have also read the manaul of style. I was not aware it was there. Chould you please be more specific on how my edit pattern is “suspicous?” Blackmamba31248 (talk) 15:16, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Unblock request

edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Blackmamba31248 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I will admit that it was foolish of me to not read the manual of style, but i have read it now. I will take full accountability for disruptive editing on my behalf, however, not all of my editing was “disruptive” as lots of it was correcting grammar mistakes and fixing links. Supossed sockpuppetry, the other reason i was blocked, is not true. I will link all my accounts: User:Leninistpython Special:Contributions/136.33.235.64 my other accounts did not have userpages, but they where called Snipercobra, cobra and Socalistviper, respectively. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 00:18, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

I'm unsure why you are unable to write "to" and "I" correctly, or why you are unable to write an unblock request without making significant spelling mistakes. Perhaps you aren't being deliberately disruptive, perhaps WP:CIR applies. Either way, best you remain blocked. Yamla (talk) 11:35, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Those where acccent marks, and the spelling mistakes are mostly do to the Auto correct that is endabled, as i use an Icelandic keyboard. Either way, i should of went and corrected it. (UTC)}}

Additional unblock request

edit

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Blackmamba31248 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

My recent unblock request was declined, but a good reason was not given, (Scroll up to see the reason.) I do believe that the blocking admin and the declining admin where acting in good faith, however, the blocking admin’s reasoning did not seem just to me, as although i was foolish in some things, such as not reading the manual of style, and i take full accountability for that, but most of my editing was in fact, (in my opinon) not disruptive, examples of my reverted editing include:

  • Adding quotation marks on a quote
  • Correcting a link
  • Expanding articles

I will link those specific articles: Al-Quaeda War of the Sicilian Vespers Marfa Sharoiko I was also blocked for supposed sockpuppetry, but i will link my accounts that haven’t been active in months: User:Leninistpython My other accounts, Socalistviper, Snipercobra, and cobra did not have userpages. My IP account was also blocked, and i will admit i was blocked many times, due to abuse of admin powers. I was blocked almost every day and unblocked the next day, despite no unblock requests being fufilled. Check the contributions, and you will see no vandalistic edits: Special:Contributions/136.33.235.64 To conclude it all, some edits where incredibly foolish of me and some where not, and if an admin decides to unblock me, i wil promise to not make any further mistakes that harm Wikipedia.

Blackmamba31248 (talk) 14:34, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Based on this appeal and the discussion below, I have unblocked this account. Any further evidence of editing from multiple accounts will cause reinstatement of the block. 06:51, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

The appeal above is the first coherent and well-written thing you've written. Thank you for demonstrating that you have read the guide to appealing blocks.
I must say, this talk page shows ample evidence of careless writing and contributions that force others to clean up after you, leading others to suspect a lack of WP:COMPETENCE that deserved block. The fact that you have had multiple accounts in violation of the terms of use to which you agreed when you created them is also sufficient reason for blocking. Thank you for disclosing them, although you haven't explained why you created them in the first place. Are you saying those accounts have been abandoned forever? Do you plan continue with this account without creating yet another account? ~Anachronist (talk) 06:25, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, the reason i created them follows:
My first account: First time i edited Wikipedia, lost the password a couple of days later.
Second and third: Wanted to be able to edit a semi-protected page.
Current: I decided i wanted to have a permanent account rather than being an IP user. Some are saved in my password log, but i had belived i had lost the password. Also, the “cobra” one i had not made any edits on and i created before i started editing, and abandoned it a few days later.
When i was on my IP account, i will admit i was blocked almost every day, but then i was unblocked the next day. It was constant, and no talk page message was left. I have never vandalised Wikipedia, the reason i was blocked for some reason. If you checked my IP account edit history, you won’t see anything. Also, it was my School IP, which might have been the reason. For the lack of Competence, after the “High error rate” message, i now always fact-check. I’ve read Competence required and everything related. I do apoligize for the foolish edits. (Also, if my unblock request is accepted, i will continue editing this account) Blackmamba31248 (talk) 12:06, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Do you realize that if you confirm an email address in your account profile, you can still access your account to reset your password if you lose your password? If you haven't yet added your email address, then do so now. It's under Preferences, User profile tab, email options section.
@Graham87: Based on these responses I am willing to unblock if you have no objections. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:01, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, í’ve added my email to my account now, just not confirmed it, because problem is, í created this account on my School device, and foreign emails can not be sent. I am logged in on my home device, but í obvisouisly have a different email on that, so really nothing i can do. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 20:58, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Anachronist: Yeah do what you like ... I'm not really in a position to do much because I'm trying to get used to this new computer. Graham87 (talk) 14:30, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Confirm your account with what you would consider your permanent email address. The device you use shouldn't matter, particularly if you can get email through your browser, which most mail services offer. You should be able to access your account from any device, but if you lose your password, you would need to reset it from a location or device where you have access to the email address you confirmed. I'm reluctant to unblock until you get this sorted out, because administrators don't want to deal with yet more accounts from you just because you didn't manage your account access properly. ~Anachronist (talk) 16:58, 17 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I’ll get that done. Thank you. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 00:18, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
So are you saying í can change my Email? When i created my account, i used my school email. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 00:21, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh. I got a little confused when i read that. I have changed to my home Email now, and confirmed it.

Blackmamba31248 (talk) 00:27, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I have unblocked your account. Now that you can recover access if you lose the password, be sure that this is the only account you use from now on, or one of the admins will block you again again. ~Anachronist (talk) 06:51, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your WP:AN report

edit

Yes, it is nothing. In general, if an editor makes a silly "drive-by" comment like that, either just ignore it, or if you're absolutely sure you're following WP:TPO, remove it. (If you're not sure, leave it up to the next person who discovers it). There's no need to report it anywhere. I don't know if they were trolling, but I doubt it. In fact, I doubt the person behind that IP is ever going to view the talk page again. Think of it as a YouTube comment. I'm oversimplifying a bit, but unless it's hate speech or repeated personal attacks, it doesn't need to be reported. And even then, maybe not. Remember trolls thrive on conflict; having their comment just quietly deleted an hour later is boring.

One more thing: "only edit" doesn't mean much when it comes to IPs; most IP addresses are dynamic these days and they may have been only assigned that IP recently. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 01:57, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, i will consider this the next time a see a troll. The reason i was concerned was unlike Youtube or any other Social Media, Wikipedia is a formal setting, but, you’re right. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 02:22, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also regarding Special:Diff/1223587482, you really, really, really don't want to be posting at WP:ANI unless you know what goes on there. It's a hostile, high-drama place, so only go there as an absolute last resort. Seriously, be careful. Technical matters can go to WP:VPT, which is friendlier. However, I think I can answer: File:Example.jpg is WP:CASCADE-protected through Wikipedia:Cascade-protected_ items/content but not protected directly, and for some reason, the "view source" link only shows up when the page is protected directly. I don't know why, but it probably has something to do with efficiency. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 03:39, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for iforming me of this. I will only Post on there when i see persistent vandalism or something serious like that. Blackmamba31248 (talk) 11:47, 13 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
