64.131.199.179 06:26, 7 March 2007 (UTC)I was confused by your edit comment-- you said "What's a "forth"" but deleted the word "fourth." Plus, the article never said "forth." "Fourth" is a synonym for "quarter" (def: "being one of four equal parts; a fourth part, esp. of one (1/4 )"). You can even look up "fourth" here on Wikipedia.

The difference between the two words is probably minimal, but as the text refers to a printed Mad Fold-In page, I think "quarter" brings with it the incorrect suggestion of dividing the area both vertically and horizontally (as in a "quarter-page ad"). Perhaps a subliminal difference at best. Certainly not trying to kick off an edit war here.

Viridiana

Hi Bob f it. I was just wondering what vandalism you found in the article Viridiana (Name)? I made the article, and the only thing I noticed was that somebody took down a picture I had. It'd help if you could get back at me.Cariis1989 00:08, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. It was me who added the movie poster, since it's called "Viridiana". I have an internal link to Luis Bunel (director of Viridiana) on the page for the article Viridiana (Name). It seems to make sense to me, and my intentions were good. Just like I've warned 76.166.143.145, I'm warning you too that you've already violated the Wikipedia:Three-revert rule which states "Wikipedians who revert a page in whole or in part more than three times in 24 hours, except in certain special circumstances, are likely to be blocked from editing.". Please see Wikipedia:Resolving disputes and attempt to seek consensus with other editors by using Wikipedia:Talk pages. Calling another editor an idiot is unhelpful. User:Netsnipe has protected protected Alucard (Hellsing) so that should keep things jolly. As for the new IP (76.166.146.69) there are only 2 edits so far. Another logged in user has entered this war (I'd call it a war). If the IP reverts another, I'll talk to Netsnipe about rewarning and protection. Bob f it 09:50, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Regarding warnings to Penfoldpotter

The warning that you gave to Penfoldpotter in response to this edit appears to be extreme. A level 4 warning should be used where an editor has repeatedly been disruptive after previous warnings, or an "im4" warning should be used in sever and obvious first instances. The edit in question does not appear to be a malicious attempt at disrupting the article, but is possibly a genuine error (it is difficult say which one was his intention.) Remember to assume good faith, and only use higher level warnings for repeated or sever disruptions. Bob f it 04:54, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your message, I can see why you interpreted it that way. This exact change has been added to Jim Walsh repeatedly from various first-time users (always their username is shown in red) or IP addresses. At least 1 username has been blocked for repeatedly adding this and creating an article on this person without it being speedily deleted. I have copied below my correspondance with the admin who deleted his page:

Hello. I thought I'd let you know that this article was re-created within a couple of hours of you deleting it. This person has been persistently added to the corresponding dab page despite multiple deletes as well. It seems to be the same person, but several usernames. Have deleted the page again, and he appears to have stopped adding his name since your warning, although, judging by his IP hopping, it probably won't be the end--Jac16888 (talk) 18:35, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
