Gothic II infobox

I'm confused. In the Template:Infobox video game page, primary sources (which would include the game itself) are mentioned, and nowhere does it mention needing secondary sources for credits, and the only notable need for that was for pre-release. Using the cite video game after every name for a game with a credits sequence would be redundant and I haven't seen any other video game infobox do that. What I'm confused on as well is that you left the designer and composer, who are not mentioned in the article via secondary sources, meaning they were also taken from the in-game credits.Rakewater (talk) 11:55, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

@Rakewater: you seem to be correct, i reverted my edit --FMSky (talk) 02:49, 18 December 2021 (UTC)

Regarding the Luis Garavito page.

A substantial amount of information has been removed in your revision regarding Luis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos' childhood infobox. These things retain crucial information in regard to Garavito's early childhood suffering in the context of him being name-called, abused, and bullied by his father and schoolmates. It also particularly notes his early life insecurities, and blossoming personality disturbances. In contrast with other pages relating to serial killers such as Dennis Nilsen and Edmund Kemper, it describes their personal feelings and outlook on things at that particular time in their life. Unless "duplicate content" refers to something completely different than what I (a new member) see it as, why does it necessitate removal when it is completely consistent and crucial to the subject? Thank you for your substantial changes.

- EDIT: Nevermind, hahah. Ignore this rambling; thank you once more for tweaking the article to a much more refined state. :)

yeah, i noticed that some stuff was mentioned twice or was even contradicting (like the part about his mother), so i merged it and deleted some parts to make more sense --FMSky (talk) 16:15, 17 December 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for your recent tidy-ups to conspiracy theorist articles

Hi, I noticed your improvements to Sacha Stone and Mark Steele (conspiracy theorist). Thank you for your attention to detail. One of these days I'd also like to get Draft:Geza Tarjanyi over the line. Spielberg and Scorsese regarding One Eyed Jacks

Hello, FMSky, my source for mentioning Scorsese's and Spielberg's intense reverence for One Eyed Jacks is a 14-minute speech Scorsese gave at the New York Film Festival in 2016 when introducing their restoration of the film. I was there and saw him speak at length about it, which is readily available on YouTube and also embedded into an article about the speech in IndieWire by Mark Burger titled "Martin Scorsese Analyzes Marlon Brando in 15-Minute ‘One-Eyed Jacks’ Discussion — Watch." Whenever I get time, I'll work on inserting a citation for that into the Brando article. Thanks for your kind attention and letting me know. I hope I manage to get that done before it recedes into the mists of my memory. Thanks again, FMSky. The Final Edict (talk) 18:51, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

Armored Saint changes

Hi…this is duojett. Someone continues to change information on the Armored Saint main Wiki page as well as information on their various album pages to information that is incorrect and also without sources. I added a source on one of the album pages a few months ago and will go back to the other pages and add sources as needed. Someone has repeatedly gone through these pages and credited both current guitar players in the band as “rhythm guitar” at various points in the band’s timeline. This is incorrect information and there is no valid source for that information. No guitarist in Armored Saint has ever been or credited as solely a rhythm guitarist. My information comes from album credits, official videos, live footage and in person performances. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duojett (talkcontribs) 20:27, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

@Duojett: yeah but i looked at the article and there wasn't a source for "lead guitar" either... imo its best just to leave it as "guitar" until someone adds a proper source... FMSky (talk) 22:14, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
@Duojett: i found a source (1) for Symbol of Salvation, and it just says "guitars" .. FMSky (talk) 09:46, 8 January 2022 (UTC)

Why are you reverting my edit when I cited a valid source? If you look at the lyric sheet in the album liner notes, all of the lead guitar solo credits are given at each song.I will be reverting the edit back. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duojett (talkcontribs) 02:08, 11 January 2022 (UTC)

@Duojett:have you even clicked the link: https://img.discogs.com/6uksHkc2l_8j-tGvBph5RtYbuI4=/fit-in/600x598/filters:strip_icc():format(jpeg):mode_rgb():quality(90)/discogs-images/R-1628452-1492974075-1638.jpeg.jpg where does it say "lead guitar" ?

Your source is a screen shot from a Discogs listing, which shows only a partial of the complete album credits. If you go to the direct source (the CD booklet/album sleeve and complete liner notes) all of the lead guitar solo credits are listed on the lyric pages above the lyrics of each song and below the song titles and songwriting credits. Your referencing an incomplete source and not doing your due diligence. All you did was reference a picture of a sale listing of the CD, posted by a seller on Discogs. John Bechdel

Why is John Bechdel's page considered for deletion? Why state that John Bechdel is "Just a random band member. Not enough to demonstrate nobility?" Mr. Bechdel has a 30 plus year career in notable bands and has worked with notable artists worldwide. He is also credited on albums and singles that have charted and were nominated for Grammy awards. John Bechdel has approved and authorized his bio and discography personally on his wiki page. He is very much alive and a touring/working musician. Why the frequent edits on his page? Is this an attack? Did my edits personally effect his page? I would appreciate a true response. Thank You.

Rage4order (talk) 00:43, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

@Rage4order: you can post that on the deletion page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/John_Bechdel), i just started the discussion cause i dont think he meets the requirements to have an article, but i might be wrong. you should probably mention though that you're editing on his behalf---FMSky (talk) 02:13, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
@Rage4order: I see you posted to Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/John Bechdel. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Bechdel is probably more suitable. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 16:01, 16 January 2022 (UTC)

Beautiful

where are sources for the statements that you're keeping on re-adding--Diana7800 (talk) 19:49, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

On The Big Day (album) you put back the hip hop genre added by that IP, but is not cited in the source given, nor in the article--Diana7800 (talk) 19:50, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
On Tyler, the Creator you affirmed that his sexuality doesnt belong in the lead; and i respond, his controversies do, just like in Travis Scott article--Diana7800 (talk) 19:52, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
On LGBTQ+ representations in hip hop music you reverted it per WP:UNDUE, but it makes no sense. The lead of the article cites mainstream artists that increased visibility and social acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, why shouldn't cite those cited in the sources that did the opposite??--Diana7800 (talk) 19:55, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
@Diana7800:: You're talking about this edit? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tyler,_the_Creator&diff=1066307187&oldid=1066305828 It literally already says "With his gritty, horrorcore-influenced earlier releases, Tyler was often criticized for his use of homophobic and misogynistic slurs in his lyrics", so why the need to add another paragraph that contains the exact same thing? Also im not gonna discuss whit a one-purpose account created today to insert defamatory and POV-pushing content only FMSky (talk) 19:57, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
Please, approach me with some respect. Wikipedia:Assume good faith#Good faith and newcomers. Plus it's spelled "with" not "whit". I would add that I'm not a one-purpose account created to insert defamatory and POV-pushing content only, as much as you're not a vandal that adds fakely sourced/unsourced reviews/genres just because you did it now, please, calm down and let's talk about it --Diana7800 (talk) 20:01, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
Talking about Tyler, why on Travis Scott page there's a section in the lead about his controversies and on tyler's there is not? Explain it to me--Diana7800 (talk) 20:05, 17 January 2022 (UTC)

Sofía Reyes

Hi! With regards to your reversion of my edits: yes, I do believe you made a mistake unfortunately.

My changes consisted of: - Adding a link to the Wayback Machine page for an existing source link (since the current page no longer exists) - Correcting the article to actually reflect content in the source (source says Reyes began singing at age 10, article erroneously says age 6. I updated it to say 10) - Modifying sentence phrasing to make it easier to read, as current sentences are rambling and unreadable - Removing unsourced conjecture ("like many established artists...")

As such, my changes were supported by the existing source, and only served to improve the accuracy of the currently incorrect article. I will be adding my changes back, but I thank you for your concern. Tequilaconcanciones (talk) 00:44, 18 January 2022 (UTC)

Gabriel Pascal

Hi. I saw that you're very active at editing American people linked to the movie industry, which I also started doing recently. I noticed that you edited many of the pages I worked on just after me and made changes to them. Thank you for doing this, as many articles were in a pretty bad shape and need improvements. The only thing I don't understand is why you reverted my edit on the page Gabriel Pascal with no explanation, as I only added some templates and didn't make any change to the general content of the page. Could you please explain it? Thank you in advance! Zsovar3 (talk) 03:28, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Because you changed his nationality FMSky (talk) 03:29, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Did I? Could you please explain what you mean by that? Pascal was a Hungarian national, and is referred to as "Hungarian" on the Spanish, French, and German wikis as well, with none of them stating any other nationalities. If there is a reliable source stating otherwise, I of course will not doubt it, as my intention is not to Hungarianize someone who is not Hungarian. Zsovar3 (talk) 03:39, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Source

Hey I suggest adding the source next to anulled in the Infobox as a reference, I still disagree with it though, as many sources say after Pac was released in Oct it was annulled by then. But make sure too add that reference in the infobox --Aaron106 (talk) 01:41, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

Hi, I recently received a message about making a change on the “Chris Pontius” entry without citing sources. I am actually new to editing on Wikipedia and created my account because I am Chris Pontius and want the information regarding my Wife and Child to be correct. Recent changes to Justin Chart page

Hi I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, but I wanted to get back to you on some edits I've made for the Justin Chart page. I made some notes for you on the [page] there but haven't seen any responses except for one. I noticed you and other users had removed some truthful and objective information in many edits, so I'd like to work with you to rectify this with the proper approach. It seems like you are heavily involved in the moderation of this page, so I'd like to work with you to provide the most relevant information as possible (sited, of course) without any bias or promotional angle. What would be the best to work you on this? Thank you! --Corporation Solutions (talk) 03:14, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi, i'm just a regular user, not a moderator or anything. Regarding the article, you should read https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest i you're editing on Justin Chart's behalf. -- FMSky (talk) 09:34, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
@FMSky: Thanks for your response. I've actually reviewed that COI article already and am making strides to edit in full transparency and compliance to the guidelines detailed. Aside from that do you mind getting back to me on the other notes I made on the Talk page? LINK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Justin_Chart I still have some questions in the Regarding hasty content removals and Regarding Justin's musical catalog sections that have yet to receive a response. Would you prefer if I fielded these questions on your Talk page instead? Thanks --Corporation Solutions (talk) 22:36, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

Eminem Article

Hey there, we’re in a bit of a dispute on the article and I was wondering if you could expand on why you’re undoing my edits? You said “no improvement” but all I was doing was fitting th article within Wikipedia’s manual of style. You don’t say the artists’ stage name, you say their last, while also crediting them with their stage name. There’s no reason undo my edits as they’re improving the article by fitting within the manual of style. Aardwolf68 (talk) 00:19, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

I dont think such a guide line exists. It is usually preferred to refer to people by their common name / stage name --FMSky (talk) 01:38, 6 March 2022 (UTC)
From what I’ve seen with manual of style, it’s usually best to refer to them by their legal last name, I could be wrong on this however. Aardwolf68 (talk) 04:12, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

XXXTentacion revision

Hi FMSky, I saw recently you reverted several of my revisions on the XXXTentacion page with regards to X’s perception in the media and his views on LGBT topics.

1. “Characterization/characterize” is a more accurate word than “description/describe” since characterize indicates more neutral framing.

2. The term “viciously” when mentioning the attack X made on his cellmate is a non-neutral POV. While I agree that yes, the attack was vicious, POV requires us to restrain ourselves from moral characterizations, even highly justified ones.

3. Fifty Grand never mentioned “gender roles” when talking about X’s beliefs. Not sure why Binksternet added that part. In the interview for the “Look At Me: The XXXTentacion Story” biography, FG is referring to X’s political views in general, not on gender roles.

Hope this clears things up. TheXuitts (talk) 23:38, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

Why did you remove "his gay cellmate"?? Dont you think its kinda relevant in a section about homophobia that the person he attacked is gay? FMSky (talk) 02:06, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Unless you are going to state a policy-based explanation for your reversions, please stop reverting my edits. Canadian Paul 18:32, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

@Canadian Paul: My bad, i was pretty sure that standard columwidths were preferable but it seems there is no such guideline. However, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Reflist does state: "The syntax {{Reflist|2}} (for example), which specifies two columns of equal width regardless of the available display width, is deprecated. " -- FMSky (talk) 18:42, 6 May 2022 (UTC)

Canadian Paul. Forcing the column size was useful long ago when everyone was on a basic computer. As new devices like laptops and cell phones came along forcing the size of columns was deprecated since that rendered the refs un-viewable on some of those devices. Best regards to you both.
