2 billion to all whom I own my life to.

10 billion to the bank.

10 billion to secure the rest of my life.

5 billion to start a business to keep myself occupied.

5 billion to the incinerator.

It's around 16.2 billion pounds sterling... A ridiculous amount of money, almost a tenth of my coutry's nominal GDP.

...I'd start a world-wide party with free drinks, snacks and a goddamn big TV show. And then I'd hope the feeling of reckless freedom soaring through the world, the feeling of unity and siblinghood, would lead to a better (read: anarcho-communist) society.

Or at least it would lead to one day of universal hangover.

I think... I'd buy myself a Gundam. Gundam model? No, no. Gundam.

But seriously, 32 billion is way too much money for an one individual to have power over, and it's not realistically easy to spend. I remember for a fifth grade math project, I had to "spend" one million dollars. That assignment gave me a mad headache.

Gundam please. ^^

Thinking about it seriously...*thinks hard* I'll create an Evil Organization to take over the world. I'll have lots of minions dressed in black and a cool logo that I can put on everything. And I'll have giant robots, genetically engineered monsters and a bishie harem. That would be cool.
Oh and I'll buy Finland.

I'd spend like a million dollars in Penn Station. Get up at 6am, go the place where alot of bums are waking up from sleeping, and talk on a soundhorn and say fight. And throw the money on the floor, and video tape the results and plaster that all over the internet/

Next I'd move to cali, buy a mansion or whatev, and fill that house with as much garbage as possible. And then put the rest into stock. Yeaahh.

Buy the licenses for many popular anime and just keep them so there wont be a release just to piss people off :D

Then I'd buy the licenses of a few Toei live action stuff and give them to August Ragone and get them R1 released.

I'd give a homeless man 2 mil to cut off both of his thumbs, fry and sautay them, add a few spices, and eat them.

Then I'd pretty much buy anything I wanted on Amazon, Ebay, Deep Discount, whatever.
Also I'd use money to fund the Gatchaman movie and fund the Robotech movie

LOL. Nice.

I'd pay off my student loans, buy a decent house and help out my family and friends. I don't even think that'd spend more than 10 million. Then I'd probably give it all to someone to spend for me (ie: charities, people, etc). That much money would make me ill.

There is no way I can answer the question instantly without time to really think it through. For that reason I would transfer 31 billion into a decent investment and live off a small amount of the remaining billion for five or more years while studying at uni, majoring in engineering/science and doing some business stuff on the side.

My choices of study would most likely relate to space and off-Earth residence, which is currently one of my dreams. While doing this I will still be continuing to work on personal/OSS programming projects so that by the end of whatever graduate study I end up finishing I'll also have very potent software engineering skills (Which would be around 15-20 years experience at the time).

After the studying period is finished I would have enough engineering, science, business, electronics and computing knowledge to be able to make the most efficient choice in how to improve all of mankind's technology with only a measly 31 billion.

$14.06 billion - Microsoft's net income in a single year ($51.12 billion in revenue)
$16.80 billion - NASA's annual budget

After spending some of it on myself (anime, manga, video games, a small country, etc.), I would share it with my family.

After that, I really don't know. These kinds of things take a while for me to think about, and I don't feel like thinking about it right now. =\

Hmm that seems like one of the best ideas I've read, its selfless and smart. I only think one more thing should be added: instead of deciding how to spend the money alone, I would use a bit of the money to pay frequent meetings between the greatest minds in the planet for say about a year, so the investment plan could be very thourougly analised from all angles and an unbiased decision could be made that would bring the most benefit possible using the remaining money.

And a small thought about the thread... maybe it'd be psychologically threatening to get so much money at once. In a split second, you'd be able to do almost anything conceivable for a human being without even trying. Mental breakdown would be a step away >_<

16 billion in stocks and savings
100 million to start my own anime licensor
1 billion for buying an estate in Venice, Japan, Florida, England, and Australia
5 billion so my parents could retire in luxury
9 billion to the creation of my own theme park chain

And I'd send the rest in the form of one million checks to people I randomly pick out of phone books.

Hey I just remembered that there exists a program on FX channel called "How to blow a billion". The most I've seen them spending at once was on a private island in the Carribeans, it was huge and there a mansion already built there. It cost a "whopping" 40 million dollars. So, unless you plan on buying one of those for each of your relatives, you'd probably die before before you even get to spend the first billion. I think the only possible way to use it all up would be on VERY bad investing strategies.

As for me, I'd spend most of it to build a super robot, or more specifically, the Genesic GaoGaiGar, and hire a team of lawyers, so Sunrise doesn't sue me for copyright infringement.

I'd do 10billion in investments, ranging from low risk to high risk.
I'd donate 10 billion to some worthy charities.
Probably give my school like 10-15million.

As far as items I would buy. Penthouse in Tokyo, as well as a nice house in rural Japan, maybe down by Kyoto. I'd build a nice house in Cleveland to live in, as well as one in Aspen. Real estate is always a good investment, so I'm not too worried about having 3 houses and 1 penthouse.

I'd for sure hook my mom and dad up.

Take 1 billion and start up some llc's.

Put 1 billion in an offshore bank account.

I'd pretty much buy all the toys and gadgets I'd ever want. Including a jet, and boat.

Even after I've spent and put away all that money, there'd still be like 7 billion left, which I would use to... I have no idea? 7,000,000,000.00 is an insane ammount of money. I'd probably walk down the street and just give people a stack of 100's.

True. There must be only 10 or so people with at least that much money. And chances are they wouldn't be as crazy as you lol =p
If you won, what would change? Instead of having an amazingly gigantic amount of money, you'd have an unimaginably gigantic amount of money. How different is that?
Boring fact behind the thought - As numbers get bigger and bigger, you are induced to make what looks like crude approximations, like x approximately equals 2x (actually this is true for numbers much, much, MUCH larger than 32 billion, but you get the picture)

If I had 32 billion dollars, I'd laze around all day, but buy what ever I wanted when ever I wanted it, give out mony to random people when the mood took me. Oh, buy a comfy chair, a HUGE screen of somesort, a servant to do stuff like fluff my pillow and get me food while I watch anime and movies all day.

I'd shamelessly spend it all on myself.
Err, I'd give away most of it I guess, to sate my need of feeling somewhat important by doing some sort of difference.
I'd probably also develop paranoia and thusly use up as much money as possible, probably all through charity so everyone would get to know that I no longer possess any such money.
I'd still keep a couple of millions though, and use them to publish a couple of books and fulfill other similiar childish dreams.
