  • Support per nom. There's water underground here; that's why the trees and shrubs are growing. It isn't unusual in arid environments for the water to surface intermittently after heavy rain. Hard to say whether that's water; if I were guessing would estimate that the center depression is mud. The white deposit at the periphery looks like a thin playa. The basin has a smoother and less whitish tone, which suggests that it hasn't dried out completely. Durova379 21:04, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
