Author makes a point that the actual (fictional) [[Orc]]s have been originally devised by J. R. R. Tolkien to mimic the people used as [[cannon fodder]] in major wars of 20th century, and yes, the specific army. Ukrainians simply noticed something that was already meant and placed to these characters by Tolkien. See [[The Great War and Middle-earth]].
