The 5th Utah Territorial Legislature was elected on August 6, 1855.[1]
Session
editThe legislative session convened on December 10, 1855, at the Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore, and ended on January 18, 1856.[2][3] Although Fillmore had been designated the territorial seat of government in 1851, the Statehouse was only partially completed and this was the first legislature to meet there. It was also the only complete session to be held in Fillmore, as future sessions reverted to meeting in Salt Lake City.[4]
