Malawi competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from July 24th to August 9th 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[1] It was the nation's eleventh appearance at the Summer Olympics. Malawi did not attend the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, because of its support to the African and United States-led boycott.
