History
editSavadi in ancient times was known as Sayyadi (Kannada: ಸಯ್ಯಡಿ) and Saividi (Kannada: ಸೈವಿಡಿ) . Durgasimha adapted Panchatantra from Sanskrit to Kannada in Sayyadi. Savadi or Sayyadi is also famous for the ancient Narayana and Brahmeshwara Temple.
