Barcelona (Freddie Mercury song) → Barcelona (song) — New location more appropriate as jointly released, both on the album and the single and wasn't purely a FM song. --BigHairRef | Talk 01:35, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

Commissioning of song
editI am certain that the famous video of this song being performed by Mercury and Caballé was at the big concert in Barcelona in 1988 to celebrate the arrival of the Olympic flag in that city after the closing of the Games in Seoul, South Korea. Trouble is, as yet, I can't find a credible citation.Rickedmo (talk) 01:07, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Sung at opening ceremony or not?
editAccording to Barcelona_(album), the song "Barcelona" was sung by Ms Caballé at the 1992 summer olympics opening ceremony, with pre-recorded Mr Mercury. According to Barcelona_(song), she refused to sing it without him there. They can't both be right... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.22.142.195 (talk) 19:24, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Regardless of what some blog says, it is not true Caballé sang it live at the opening ceremony. The recording was played over a tralelogue of the city at the start of the international broadcast, as can be checked in Youtube videos. Montserrat Caballé had two performances on stage during the opening ceremony: she sang "Sou benvinguts" with Josep Carreras and later on, she sang arias with Josep Carreras, Plácido Domingo, Jaume Aragall and Teresa Berganza.-- Xelaxa | Speak 11:30, 24 Juky 2011 (UTC)
