Notable members

edit

I have removed the entire section. There are two issues here: 1) Listing a person as a member of a criminal organization is potentially libelous. Per our policy on biographies of living persons, do not list anyone with citing an independent reliable source which directly states that they are or were a member of the Black Disciples. Uncited additions will be removed without discussion. Editors will be warned and blocked as necessary to enforce this. 2) To be a notable member, someone must be a member (cited, per #1) and notable. Someone is "notable" if there is a stable article on Wikipedia about them. If someone is one or the other but not both, do not list them. For example, John Qwerty should not be listed. Why? For the same reason Betsy Ross is not listed. Qwerty might be a member, but he is not notable. Ross is notable, but not a member. Neither one is a "notable member". - SummerPhDv2.0 18:16, 24 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

A "troublesome" 11 year old

edit

In the first sentence of this article: "which received significant news coverage after the murder of a troublesome 11-year-old named Robert Sandifer". The citation here (http://www.blvckvrchives.com/robertsandifer/) doesn't work by the way, it requires a password to view. But anyway, the word "troublesome" is unclear here. Troublesome to who? So, I think the word should either be removed, or some explanation added. Really, though, it just doesn't sound right to say "the murder of a troublesome 11 year old" ... as if to suggest the fact that he was "troublesome" makes the murder less bad. Organization

edit

The Black Disciples are structured more like a religion than a corporate enterprise, contrary to most organized criminal groups today, leadership ranks include king shorty, Minister, Assistant Co-Minister, and Demetrius.

Replace:

"after the murder of a troublesome 11-year-old named Robert Sandifer"

with:

"after the murder of one of their own members, an 11-year-old named Robert Sandifer"

This makes the sentence more clear, and uses language which treats the victim with more respect. Maxplean (talk) 04:57, 25 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
