Jones and Clampett

edit

The recent edits about Jones hating Clampett and spreading lies about him are sourced, so I'm hesitant to revert them. However, the new information needs to be presented in a much more neutral fashion per WP:NPOV. Thus the {{NPOV}} template. — BrianSmithson 21:29, 22 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

The section looks better, but now it begs for some inline citations to show where these quotes are coming from. -- BrianSmithson 19:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Many a people other than Jones and Blanc have spat venom over Clampett. Tex Avery spoke openly against Clampett's behavior, claiming in a letter: "I am now in the process of trying to stop an imposter, Bob Clampett from spreading the word that he is the father of Bugs Bunny! When I made 'A Wild Hare' he was busy in another building knocking out Porky Pigs! I was recently tricked into some film clips with Larry Jackson for his 'Bugs Bunny Superstar' whereupon I told how I created Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd (1940) and Daffy Duck (Porky's Duck Hunt) 1937. When the picture came out I found out he collaborated with Bob Clampett! He cut the picture in Clampett's studio! Of course most of my comments were cut."
Also of note to Bob Clampett's 'legacy':
Stan Freberg and Daws Butler claimed that they really wrote all of the 'Time for Beany' television shows, but Clampett glommed credit for them. Bob also took credit for creating the Cecil puppet, though Daws claims it was his wife who really sewed it.
Bill Scott claims he asked Clampett for a payraise and that he'd think about it. Later that evening Scott got a call from one of Clampett's secretaries saying he was fired.
Clampett monetarily ripped off many animators on the Beany & Cecil cartoon show. These animators worked under the agreement that if they put out more footage than was required that week, they would be paid more. They were not. Izzy Ellis claimed that this happened to him and he wouldn't work for Clampett ever again.

Removed excessive cleanup tags

edit

I replaced the excessive amount of cleanup tags with the copyedit tag, which covers most of the issues, and kept the refimprove tag. momoricks 22:52, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
