Actual size of wilderness
editThe Eastern Wilderness Act of 1975 set aside 6,500 acres (2,600 ha) for the Bristol Cliffs Wilderness but Wilderness Connect claims that the area consists of 3,750 acres (1,520 ha). I am unable to resolve the discrepancy. Tom Scavo (talk) 20:18, 27 December 2019 (UTC)
- Apparently 2,500 acres (1,000 ha) were subsequently removed from Bristol Cliffs Wilderness. "This marked the only time in United States history that acreage was actually withdrawn from a wilderness area."[1] I haven't been able to confirm that, however. - Case solved. See the main article for details. Tom Scavo (talk) 00:51, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
