Pronunciation
edit@TenIslands: Regarding this discussion from over three years ago, there is no Cape Verdean Portuguese in the Help:IPA/Portuguese guide. Per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Pronunciation#Other languages, this means that the editors must choose between either the IPA conventions for European Portuguese as laid out in the guide (in this case: [ˈkaβu ˈveɾðɨ]) or the ones for Brazilian Portuguese as laid out in the guide (in this case: [ˈkabu ˈveʁdʒi], significantly further away from the local pronunciation). There is no third option apart from using the IPA-all template for the pronunciation, which I strongly oppose (that template as well as the plain IPA template are only for those languages that don't have their own IPA key, or for phonemic/narrow phonetic transcriptions in a narrow subset of articles concerning the language itself and its dialects, or their phonology - so not in this case). The fourth option would be to remove the IPA altogether - I think we can agree that this is the least acceptable route.
If you wish to include Cape Verdean Portuguese in the guide (or you wish to remove the fricative allophones of /b, d, ɡ/ from it), go to Help talk:IPA/Portuguese. The former will likely open a can of worms because there are more national standards of Portuguese in Africa (and Asia too). Then, all of the relevant transcriptions will need to be adjusted (again, see Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Pronunciation#Other languages). Sol505000 (talk) 21:44, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
@165.90.125.243: Please stop reverting and read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Pronunciation#Other languages. Your edit is at odds with Help:IPA/Portuguese which does not cover Cape Verdean Portuguese, only the European and Brazilian varieties. If you want to replace the transcription with Brazilian [ˈkabu ˈveʁdʒi] (which is significantly further away from the local pronunciation), be my guest. Sol505000 (talk) 17:47, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
Minimum wage/salary
editSince the exchange rate for CVE / USD varies, there's no point in stating what the USD equivalent was at some unknown time in the past. Also, since 1999, CVE has been pegged to €110.265 so the EUR amount that was previously stated has never been correct. 伟思礼 (talk) 05:05, 22 March 2024 (UTC)
