References to Salem College
editSalem College is a women's school in North Carolina. There was a Salem College in WV that has since been renamed Salem International University; since his life seems to have been spent in that state, and since he could not have gone to the Salem in NC, I'm going to edit the article to reflect the proper school. Cecil H. Underwood → Cecil Underwood – His middle initial was not widely used. Proposed move conforms to common usage and simplifies article title. --Relisted. Sunrise (talk) 21:45, 22 March 2015 (UTC) Bitmapped (talk) 03:15, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- NOTE Cecil Underwood (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) was merged to Cecil H. Underwood (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) on 8 April 2006, so the edit history at the target location needs to be kept around, per WP:MAD -- 65.94.43.89 (talk) 11:46, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. No evidence is given for the assertion that "his middle initial was not widely used". From a cursory search, it seems to be used quite a lot: [1][2][3][4]. Given this doubt and the problems with maintaining the history, as detailed above, I'd be inclined to leave this as is at present. — Amakuru (talk) 10:00, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
