Right/Left Seems Reversed in Description of Image
editThe right and left sides of the image being described seems to be reversed in the image, but I haven't fixed it because this is not my area of expertise and I am not absolutely sure. In either case, because the image is split vertically, it really does not make sense to describe it in terms of right/left. 88.224.44.231 (talk) 18:45, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Image is very wide
editThe diagram on this page is quite wide. Some computers may not be able to display the entire image without having to scroll horizontally. It would be nice to shrink it a little bit, to be 800 pixels wide or less. Also, it would be nice to convert it into SVG format, so that it would look less jagged. left hand, right hand
edit- "Note that operations mimicking physical, linear behaviour, such as image scaling, is ideally carried out in the left hand side, working on linear RGB signals. Operations that are to appear "perceptually uniform", such as lossy image compression, on the other hand, should be carried out in the right hand side, working on "gamma-corrected" r'g'b or Y'CbCr signals."
Can someone clarify why this practice is beneficial? Thanks, --Abdull (talk) 09:59, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
