What happens to cow magnets when the animal is slaughtered? Are they recovered, recycled?

I apologize for that rash of vandalism, a group of middle school students suddenly realized you could edit wikipedia and did not make the best decisions on how to do so. To awnser a couple questions. I have been working with and raising livestock, and cattle since I was born in 1962. Cow magnets have been around alot longer than I can remember, at least since the mid 1900s and possiably since barbwire. I also worked in a major slaughterhouse for 10 years. I was a rendering mechanic for 5 of those. You would be absoutly amazed at the things that come out of a cows stomach. I still have a spent 50 cal. bullet I found, that came out of a cow. Cow magnets in the slaughter house are mechanic toys. Some do recycle them but most find there way to a tool box or scrap bin. I have about 1/2 a coffee can of them. They normally show up on a huge magnet, installed somwhere, to catch metal, before the non meat portions of the cow head for the rendering machines. I would also like to point out that no part of a cow is intentionaly wasted. We reuse everything for somthing. 67.60.57.54 (talk) 07:13, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! i was wondering about where they end up. When you say, 'recycled', do you mean they get sold back to farmers for new cows, or that they go to a metal recycle place? Seems like you could use them over and over again. OsamaBinLogin (talk) 15:27, 10 November 2011 (UTC)

Can anyone figure out what this is really supposed to say, and then say it?
