Subsites
editDoes anybody remember all the subsites that Dogpile use to own? For example, cujo or Don Quijote, there were quite a few. I rather enjoyed them.
Sincerely, Judiciously
- I don't think I remember them all, but before it was sold I remember there was Arfie, Cujo, Lassie, Buck (from Married with Children), Quixote (actually was my cat), Rover, Speedy (my German Shephard/Basset Hound from childhood) and Senghor (another dog from my childhood).
- Enjoy, Aaron
History of problems?
editAm I the only one that absolutely cannot establish a connection with dogpile.com? I tried with several different browsers over a period of several days and none of them can connect. I've never had a problem quite like this before. --Claude 05:49, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
External links entry
editI'm not sure what the following entry from the "External links" section is about, so I've moved it here:
- Quote from Greg Notess, an independent search engine expert, taken from Metasearch
(Ciotog 03:58, 29 March 2007 (UTC))
- Recently, Dogpile went through big changes, at least by the looks of it.
That's just advertising
editThis article is not worth to take place in any Wikipedia.
- I agree, I think this article needs a more neutral writing (was it written by the Dogpile staff? ). Actually that is why I added the "Paid Listing Problem" section. However I don't think this article should be deleted, at least it deserve a section in a general Meta Search Engine Article if there is one.

- I don't think it's advertising. But maybe I'm biased because this is the search engine I used before Google showed up. Useight 09:52, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
- I disagree, I was doing a report and found it to be interesting and helpful but I believe it needs more information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.127.155.132 (talk) 05:45, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
New logo
editDogpile changed its logo yesterday (Sunday) and it needs to be renewed.
Music
editI use Audio Dogpile to find and download music, is that legal? -Yancyfry 03:42, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
- I don't see why not... -Snick's Friend. =) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.76.13.166 (talk) 00:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- On that note, the image for this page is now out of date because Dogpile seems to have ditched their audio search function likely because of too much of the above methinks.--76.199.4.248 (talk) 00:56, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Established 1990?
editI don't see any support for the categorization of Dogpile as a 1990 establishment. Kestenbaum (talk · contribs) 17:19, October 9, 2007

What does this have to do with the popular definition of a dog pile?
editWhat happened here? Did this .com pay to take a term used for eons in sports? Straighten this out. --166.205.5.12 (talk) 09:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, maybe an explanation of why the name was chosen would be useful. "Dogpile" in its earlier sense seems to be specifically American (I'm British and have almost never heard it, even in sporting contexts) so some context would be handy. 86.132.139.89 (talk) 00:02, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
- The search engine is more notable than the sports term and deserves its own article. The term "dog pile" should perhaps be defined in a list of sports terms. Tom H (talk) 20:58, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
- How is a search engine started in 1996 more notable than a term that has been around for decades? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.1.30.11 (talk) 07:25, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- How many articles, books, etc discuss the word "dogpile". If it doesnt get coverage, its not notable. - note that this doesnt mean the word was used in an article. The article has to actually be ABOUT the topic. I could envision one or two such theoretical articles, maybe talking about the etymology, or some controversy (related perhaps related to similarly named children's games) - Dogpile the website however has many many articles. No Longer Aggregating Results From Multiple Engines? (December 2020)
editThis is non scientific, but the results on dogpile.com do not appear to be aggregating from multiple sources and there is no indication that you are searching multiple search engines. Trying a query, the results returned by dogpile are the same as those returned by duckduckgo. I cannot find a source for this change. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.69.95.227 (talk) 01:06, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
As of October 20, 2021 a search for "united arab emirates" "higher education" (quotes included) yields very different results than Duck Duck Go.174.7.118.16 (talk) 23:24, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
