Talk:EchoLink
Screenshot
editI'm a new member, and I don't exactly know how to post screenshots, but I think one should be included for this program. -MU9214—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Macuser9214 (talk • contribs) 23:27, 2 January 2007 (UTC).
Major rewrite
editI ended up more or less completely rewriting this article because I couldn't really understand the original version very well. It seems to me that chunks of it were largely lifted direct from the Echolink website, which I suspect is a bad thing anyway?
I have used Echolink myself on occasion and have used this experience as well as the program's website, and the helpfile to produce this article that I hope is a little more intelligible to the man in the street. More work is needed, of course, including perhaps a screenshot as suggested above, and ideally a graphic showing how the system works (along the lines of those on the Echolink website). Comments welcome! Smalljim 17:52, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
K1RFD and Echolink
editJust a quick note.. I had spoken to Johnathan Taylor previously via email and he has told me that he has nothing to do with Echolink other than he wrote the software. He has turned the reins over to the current regime, whomever that may be. I also removed his dead website link from the article. --Dp67 | QSO | Sandbox | UBX's 14:33, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
I may have given you the wrong impression. I still maintain the software and the back-end servers, and help answer technical questions from users, but I don't handle the day-to-day validation of new users. —Preceding unsigned comment added by K1rfd (talk • contribs) 17:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Terminology
editEchoLink is spelled with a capital "L". Software packages that work with EchoLink (EchoMac, Javaecho, etc.) are mostly EchoLink-compatible, but are not considered versions of EchoLink per se, since they have been produced by other authors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by K1rfd (talk • contribs) 13:40, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
