Interview with Leonard
editOne program had a guest host interview Leonard Lopate himself, in which Lopate explained what he was trying to do with his program, and his method of interviewing. He said, for example, that he tries to be polite to his guests, but when Henry Kissinger came to talk about his book, he wasn't going to let Kissinger get away without answering some tough questions. As I recall, it was in a week of anniversary programs. Does anybody remember the date? That would be an excellent source for a Wikipeia entry. One might contact the WNYC public affairs department, or the program itself, to find out. Nbauman 17:28, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Girlfriend?
editAccording to Edible Brooklyn magazine, Mr. Lopate is currently living with his girlfriend, "painter and artist Melanie Baker". What should be done with the article mentioning his wife? --Blue387 (talk) 06:42, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

WNYC clears Lopate
editWNYC cleared Leonard Lopate of all charges regarding sexual or other physical misconduct. WNYC management will confirm this. Deb Freeman 66.108.0.223 (talk) 15:00, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
Hello Deb, are we to conclude that the Proskauer Rose report was a put up job intended to rid the NYPR of its highly compensated old white straight men? We haven't heard from Laura Walker in the last two fund drives, not since her directorship at Tribune Media and its efforts to be acquired by Fox or Sinclair became public fodder. Clearance of Lopate would be a fine addition to the article, as soon as verfiable citations can be found. I could find none. Walker's story is here. [1]. Rhadow (talk) 23:25, 18 November 2018 (UTC)
