SPOILERS

edit

Hey guys, DON'T MENTION PLOT ELEMENTS FROM THE UPCOMING MOVIE HERE. I just deleted a major one. Thanks for ruining the movie!

So don't read the article. Emperor001 (talk) 21:49, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

In-universe

edit

The "Appearances" section desperately needs some better real world context. Where does it say 1926? In what book or game does it reveal where Marion moved to NYC or tried her hand at journalism? hbdragon88 (talk) 23:25, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed Move

edit

Shouldn't this article be Marion Jones as she married Indy at the end. I know it's a spoiler, but if people are smart, they won't go to the articles until they see the movie. From the day the fourth film came out till the day I finally saw it, I avoided all Indiana Jones articles so that I wouldn't accidently read a spoiler. Emperor001 (talk) 21:51, 4 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is there any proof that she took Jones' last name? We can't assume that she would automatically take it. hbdragon88 (talk) 01:19, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The first sentence of the article itself says Marion Jones. Besides, for this time period, when would a woman not take her husband's last name. It's a logical assumption. We would more than likely need proof that she didn't take his name. Emperor001 (talk) 01:21, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good point. I forgot that this took place in the 1950s. hbdragon88 (talk) 03:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another thing to note was that this kind of issue came up on Eileen Prince and whether she should be merged into a two-character article, similar to how James and Lily Potter were handled. That point has since become moot because Prince has been merged into her son's article (don't go to it if you haven't read HBP). I do not know of any instances where we keep the original surname.

Another example may be Mutt Williams. I argued that this is the name that he is first known by, and the most common, per WP:NC(CN), even if his name technically becomes Mutt Jones after their marriage. This may also fall into a CN argument, as we've known her as Marion Ravenwood sicne 1981. hbdragon88 (talk) 03:58, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adding comic appearances

edit

The article mentions her appearances in the comics, but then the section called Appearances only mentions films... She's anyone know which comics she's in? AncientSwordRage (talk) 10:24, 24 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
