Doesn't appear to be of English origin

Any source I've seen that gives an English origin states the same thing: that the surname is from "moor" and "raw"/"row" and means "houses along a moor" or "someone who lived along a moor". The only examples ever given are with the spelling Marrow and Morerawe, never "Morrow". Marrow, Morrow and Morerawe all sound far closer to the Gaelic pronounciation of the name Murchadha, which. There was substantial Gaelic migration to England before the time these names were recorded, one example would be Aoife MacMurrough. The name "Moore" or "Muir" is recorded as coming from this English "moor" origin, and this makes sense as they both have that long "oo" sound (forgive my unprofessionalism in typing the sounds). The examples given (Marrow/Marrowe) sound far more similar to Murchadha (as does Morrow) than they do to the Old English "mōr-raw" and Moore/Muir. It is also far more likely that Vikings in England had passed through Ireland or Scotland and taken the name "Murchadh" and in English becoming "Morerawe" or "Marrow". There where also recorded Irishmen travelling with the Norsemen to England, many of whom could well have been called Murchadh or could have taken the name Murchadh upon arriving in England to describe themselves. The Clan Moroghoe, deriving from MacMurchadha is pronouned "Clan Morrow". "O'Morchoe" sounds more similar to the name Morrow than Murphy, which it is more commonly associated with. Murphy is from Murchaidh, like Murchie and Murchison. Morrow, Murrow, Moroghoe, MacMorrow, MacMurrough and O'Morchoe are from MacMurchadha. (Which I believe myself are ultimately Norse-Gaelic however I've been told that is original research and I can't post it until I have solid evidence, which is fair and right, I can't go posting my own assumptions as fact, but the Norse-Gaelic is for another day). In conclusion, I do not believe there is enough evidence to support an English origin for the surname Morrow.
