First time, please bear with me. I would like to add two minor details from first-hand memory. Below the section titled: The "Newport 69" Festival, June 20-22, 1969 1. Under "Friday, June 20, 1969", I would like to add "Ike & Tina Turner" 2. Under "Saturday, June 21, 1969", I would like to change "Eric Burdon" to "Eric Burdon & War"

- Confirmed by citable sources and belatedly done. Hard to get table service in this joint, isn't it? AVarchaeologist (talk) 17:31, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

editA few suggestions as to the lineup at this festival: I was there all three days and The Jimi Hendrix Experience was not there on Friday. Jimi showed up without Noel Redding or Mitch Mitchel on Sunday. That is accurate. Also, I don't remember The Byrds on Sunday, or Lee Michaels on Saturday (I should think I would.) And Sonny and Cher were not booed off the stage; in fact, they were never there at all, unless I missed something that went entirely unannounced and unseen at about 100 feet from the stage. As with almost every festival of that era (such as the Palm Springs pop festival, which is remembered as occurring in '69, when in fact it was '70), many groups scheduled to play never show up or cancel at the last minute - or the show itself is postponed to a later date. Personal experience is my only evidence, which may be corroborated, or not, with other's recollection and testimony, in the interest of accuracy.45.59.205.210 (talk) 03:55, 6 April 2021 (UTC)
