editI have cleaned up the article's language; only minor changes had to be made. I deleted this phrases, "surgent juhurul islam was notables .", which appeared at the end of the history section, since it was hanging and did not fit with the paragraph. -Samuel tan85 (talk) 03:07, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

editI am Nurul Alam Masud (masud@pran-bd.org), working with a social development organization in Noakhali and with various social/cultural organization as well. I just surprised the `Noakhali' page in wiki. Somebody may be using the wiki for their narrow interest. I saw some one had add a sub-head `RAZAKER 1971' and putted some name. Like Mr. Prof. Hanif, Mr. Obaidul kadar and others are very well-known person and Freedom fighter. All of the said peoples are very closely engaged with politics. I think some one may be done it intentionally and this is very sad for us. I have cleaned-up some name from there, Only I have no knowledge about Mr. Rafiq that why I didn't erased his name. I am requesting all of you please don't use the wiki for your own purpose. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pranbd (talk • contribs) 10:02, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Noakhali city
editThe article's author redirect Noakhali to Noakhali District, but then don't speak about Noakali city. No hedquarters of the district are quoted. Furthermore say that district was formely Sudharam: that is wrong, districte was formely (1822-1868) named Bhulua. Shudaram was the old name of Noakhali city.--88.19.49.50 (talk) 08:12, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Noakhali District
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Noakhali District's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

editI think someone is trying to mislead the editor or administrator to suspend this article from wikipedia. Most of the information provided in this article are available in public domain. I am surprised that this article has been suspended citing copy right violation. Even Banlapedia itself uses information from public domain which are mostly based on official handouts published from time to time to write their article on Noakhali district. Moreover, Banglapedia is a publication of government of Bangladesh. The same information is also available from the web pages of Noakhali District Commissioner and hundreds of other publication.
I feel that Wikipedia should keep the article in the same form as it was before suspension of the article "Noakhali District". All the information available in that article are available in the public domain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Weiliahsan (talk • contribs) 16:43, 24 November 2012 (UTC)
- I'm very sorry, but being widely reproduced does not make content "public domain." Banglapedia clearly reserves copyright on its content (their current version of the article that was copied here says, "©Copyright Banglapedia 2006. All Rights Reserved."). The government of Bangladesh reserves copyright on most of its content as well (See their Terms of Use, which includes the text "The material, contents, and trademarks contained in or displayed on this website or websites to or from which this website is linked are the property of their respective owners and are protected by Copy Right Act (Amended 2005) of Bangladesh. The designs, information, graphics, images, logos and the selection and arrangements thereof on this Website, are the property of the Prime Minister's Office."). This article can certainly be rebuilt, but it should not include information copied from any other website. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:31, 13 January 2013 (UTC)

History
edit@SalamAlayka:, excellent work on the History section however it is taking up enough space to be an article of its own. Just as there are History of Sylhet, History of Dhaka and History of Chittagong articlees, I will be doing the same for Noakhali region and moving your edits there. Hope that is fine.
