editThis article suggests that Oscar Brown invented Vocalese with his first album in 1960, whereas in fact the technique had been popular since at least the late 1940s. In particular, the reference to Jon Hendricks composing vocalese lyrics 3 years later is highly misleading (though true for this particular song), given that LHR recorded "Sing a Song of Basie" in 1957.
