Declined speedy
edit@Dkendr:, I've declined the speedy since there is enough of an assertion of notability for Piff to pass A7 criteria. An appearance in a notable show is enough for A7, although the bar to pass this is admittedly very low. There's also the Londonist interview as well. This one looks like it'd be best taken to AfD, since it doesn't fall under an A7, and if Piff fails at AfD, that'd prevent it from being re-created. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 07:17, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- To someone who isn't familiar with the technicalities of Wikipedia editing and discussion, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! 90.249.136.231 (talk) 16:54, 23 December 2021 (UTC)
Place of Birth
edit@Hydronium Hydroxide. The cited article, unless I have missed a quote somewhere else, says: "I’ve lived here all my life. I grew up in South East London, but I’ve lived all over, North, South, East, West." You seem to assume that growing up in a place is the same as being born there. I have tried to make my edits comply with the sources available and not to make assumptions, which is what you seem to be doing. I hope you caan find a reliable sourse that doess show his place of birth because I cannot find one. Please stop reverting back to uncited statements that have been questioned (by me). - @Roger 8 Roger: Source added was <https://www.thestage.co.uk/features/interviews/2016/international-piff-the-magic-dragon-from-edinburgh-to-las-vegas/>. Birthplace is down the bottom in the CV summary. Try searching for "Born". ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 06:46, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Roger 8 Roger: But seriously, https://www.google.com/search?q=piff+dragon+born+london throws up a number of potential reliable sources ([1], [2], [3], ...) that you could have used to add a cite, rather than deleting information. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 06:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Removal of sourced material
edit@Rp2006: you've deleted some sourceable/sourced material
- Mojo: https://theatre-rites.co.uk/show.php?id=20&title=Mojo#creatives "John Van Der Put | Magic Consultant"
- Birthdate: https://www.reviewjournal.com/entertainment/entertainment-columns/kats/fifteen-at-15-a-raking-of-the-stabiles-x-empire/ - "9: Piff, aka John van der Put, turns 37 on Friday." from a story on Thursday June 8, 2017, so straightforward WP:CALC.
- Fat Duck: https://metro.co.uk/2008/04/01/a-peek-inside-hestons-food-lab-62333/ "His magician, John van der Put, is working on magic water". A magician working on effects for a restaurant (rather than as an in-house performer) is a consultant.

- Could have sworn that material was not in the citations. Will take another look now! RobP (talk) 16:31, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
- OK. I restored and improved what I incorectly removed. However, the link for the birthday goes to an article with minimal info and nothing I can find on vdP. I do not see anything like "9: Piff, aka John van der Put, turns 37 on Friday." Maybe a subscription is needed? RobP (talk) 17:15, 14 September 2019 (UTC)
