Other Types Of Gunbelts.

Maybe some people don’t CARE about police gunbelt’s. Maybe some people are interested in other types of gunbelts. Maybe assuming that Police-style gunbelts are the only type of gunbelts wastes their time looking at material that ISN’T what they wanted to know about.

I doubt people care. I was looking for an article on one particular gun harness that one wears around their top and could be concealed by a jacket (like the ones policemen in suits and bodyguards wear), and I have yet to identify its name. Just to continue on the subject of tinkering, what items do you think we should include as equipment that is carried on the duty belt? Here's my list: Baton Holders, Spray Carriers, Flashlight Holders, Glove/PPE Pouches, Handcuff Cases, Key Holders, Magazine Pouches, Radio & Pager Holders, Firearm holder, Taser holder, and a Knife/Multitool holder. Probably you'd want to shorten that list a bit...

The line "The usual equipment which is carried on the belt for an armed officer is; a handgun in a holster, Ammunition, handcuffs, TASER, baton and a rescue knife. Duty belts often carry more than 20 lbs (9.1 kg) of equipment.[3]" contradicts as well as duplicates the lead intro paragraph.... SGGH ^speak! 21:34, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

UK Centric Equipment...

I understand that most of the WikiProject LE folks are Special Constables in the UK. I'm not sure if UK folks have to carry first aid equipment on their rigs (Uniform Equipment Belt, Police Equipment Belt, or simply Duty Rig), but in the US, its not common. Gloves are, of course, but not anything past gloves. What about agencies in other countries?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.44.55.49 (talk • contribs)

I'm a full time officer with the GMP, I do carry a first aid pouch on my duty belt which contains CPR mask, gloves, and antiseptic wipes and other stuff. Because police officers are one of the first responders on the scene of an accident they may be able to provide assistance until the ambulance arrives! Regards Dep. Actually I think I am the only special constable in WP:LE! We do carry first aid kit but it's force specific, not everyone does it depends what you are doing for that day. We are all first aid trained though. SGGH ^speak! 11:14, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Manufacturers

I'm not sure manufacturers need mention in the intro, but it's officially "Uncle Mike's Law Enforcement", which is a division of Michaels of Oregon. [1] The company also makes hunting gear. New remedies for "Concerns and Remedies" section

Experts have developed systems to improve equipment positioning and market those systems as "training." I added text and put a link to a trainer as an example, but Piano non troppo told me I should discuss doing so here first, since it looks like I'm spamming. (I have no connection to the trainer/vendor.)

What should I do? I want to add an example of a solution to the problem, but I don't know how to do it without linking to the site of the solution.

Examples of what I'm talking about: Balancing weight; placing the microphone on the chest so the officer can use it with either hand while in the fetal position, without twisting the neck around; putting the taser backwards in its holster so it can be cross-drawn more easily; removing magazines and radios from the back to limit fall injuries; putting mace where it can be accessed without breaking stride running; placing cuffs where they can be reached without breaking control holds; etc. -- all designed to balance weight and make gear accessible with more natural movements, given the officer's physical activity (running, wrestling, shooting) at the time.
